STEP FOUR - YOU MUST PROTECT THAT WHICH OUR FATHER HAS BEGUN IN YOU!
It is your responsibility to protect, guard that which the Father has started in you. You must put in the work. This will only happen if you prioritize and value what the Father is working in you. It’s up to you. So far, we have begun practicing protecting our minds and eyes. Today we will add protecting our ears. Why? Because what you hear, what you listen to affects what you believe. Look at what the Word says through these passages:
*Isaiah 53:1 (NLT) Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm?
*Romans 3:3-4 (NLT) 3 True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? 4 Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him,
“You will be proved right in what you say,
and you will win your case in court.”[a]
Don’t listen to any report that contradicts what God has spoken!
It is your responsibility to protect your ears. How do you protect your ears? It is done through the study of the Word of God. Through studying the Word, we recognize when messages, conversation, songs, etc. are not in line with what the Father says. Studying helps us to stop messages full of mess that come to confuse us from entering our spirit man. I love good preaching, singing, and inspirational talk shows; but, they do not replace my time in the Word. The Word of God not only transforms my thinking, protects my mind, shapes my focus; it also helps me to distinguish what is and isn’t good for my hearing. If I don’t watch what and who I listen to, then I will be doubtful instead of living a life where I doubt less. Your listening to the Word of God during this season is critical to protecting your thought life.
