STEP THREE - YOU MUST PROTECT THAT WHICH OUR FATHER HAS BEGUN IN YOU!
It is your responsibility to protect, guard that which the Father has started in you. You must put in the work. This will only happen if you prioritize and value what the Father is working in you. It’s up to you. Yesterday we began the work of protecting our minds. Today we will add protecting our eyes. Why? Because what you see determines where your focus will be. Look at what the Word says about the eyes in the passages below:
*Proverbs 4:25 (NLT) 25 Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
*Hebrews 12:1-3 (NLT) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.[a] Because of the joy[b] awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people;[c] then you won’t become weary and give up.
You have a promise! It will come to pass! Stay Focused!
It is your responsibility to protect your eyes. How do you protect your eyes? It is done through the study of the Word of God. I love good movies, informative shows, and inspiring shows; but, they do not replace my time in the Word. The Word of God not only transforms my thinking and protects my mind; it also shapes my focus. If my focus is off, then my living will be off. Your focus on the Word of God during this season is critical to protecting your thought life.
